On January 1, 2025, the Emergency Management Agency Volunteer Group (EMAVG) proudly supported the Macon-Bibb EMA during the Hilton Hotel Explosive Demolition project. This high-profile event showcased our commitment to community safety and our capabilities in emergency response.
Our Role:
Provided logistical support as part of the Incident Command structure.
Assisted operations from the Mobile Command Vehicle.
Worked closely with Macon-Bibb EMA leadership to ensure a safe and successful demolition.
This project highlights the teamwork and professionalism of EMAVG volunteers in coordinating with local agencies to manage complex events. It also underscores the importance of preparedness, communication, and collaboration in emergency management.

The Emergency Management Agency Volunteer Group (EMAVG) was proud to support this year’s Cherry Blossom Festival, contributing over 170 volunteer hours to ensure the success and safety of the event. From assisting with logistics and crowd coordination to supporting emergency preparedness initiatives, our members exemplified the spirit of community service and resilience.
This annual event provided not only an opportunity to serve but also a chance for our team to connect with residents and visitors alike. The energy was high, the blossoms were vibrant, and our volunteers were honored to play a part in one of Macon-Bibb’s most cherished traditions.
